We love our furry friends!
My name is Glenn Derby, I have loved dogs since I was a kid. My favorite book was Where the Red Fern Grows! That book helped me form a bond with dogs that I have had for over 50 years. I love training, handling, talking about, and just being in the dog world. My goal is to have a dog facility that everyone loves to come see and be a part of!! I look forward to meeting all the new dogs and the ones we’ve had since day 1.
Hey, it’s Jordan! I’m the manager here at The Dog Nest. I’ve been working here for 7 months and I love every day. How could anyone not be happy when working with these puppies?! In my spare time I like to lift weights. I love deadlifting. I have a current one rep max of 320 pounds. My goal is to get to 375 by 2022! Otherwise I enjoy reading books, hanging outside with Maverick, or going axe throwing with my friends.
Hi my name is Savannah Derby and I am a junior in high school. Animals have been a huge part of my life since before I can remember. Dogs specifically have always had a special place in my heart. Working at The Dog Nest has taught me so much about dogs that I never knew before. I have a really good understanding of how to handle and support dogs which I know I will use in my life forever! My dog Jessie is the first rescue dog I have had and knowing how she is has helped me understand other rescue dogs that come into The Nest. Growing this love for rescue dogs has encouraged me to do outreach work at dog shelters. I know dogs will always be a big part of my life!
Hi my name is Nick! I’ve spent the last 18 months working at the dog nest and it has been a journey. From starting as a dog handler to pursuing schooling and a career as a dog trainer this has been a place of much growth for me. I enjoy and am passionate about the work I do here and look forward to what our future brings. My dog is cowpoke the orange border/heeler and when we’re not at the dog nest we are almost always in the water, catching the sunset (or the frisbee), or climbing some rocks
Hi my name is Aiyana and I’ve worked with dogs for the last 4 years now. I’m currently working on going down to Texas to go to Starmark Academy to be a professional dog trainer. My passion for helping dogs/animals started when I was very young, which has led me to working here at The Dog Nest. I’ve found that working with animals does not feel like work at all, especially in such a friendly environment. Every morning I wake up excited to come and hang out with all of the dogs. My favorite part is creating unique and special bonds with every dog that walks through our doors.
Hi my name is Chloe Petri and I am currently a junior in high school. I moved here from Colorado three years ago with my family and two dogs. My love for animals motivates me to pursue a degree in either zoology or ecology after high school. I have even entertained the idea of training dogs for the police force! The opportunity to work with a variety of dogs each day allows me to follow my passion. I love spending time with my furry friends and embracing the chance to learn more about the minds of dogs. I’ve also learned a lot of training tips that I hope to utilize when I get my own pup some day!
Hi my name is Stella Dominski and I will be a senior in high school. I have always loved animals since I was a little girl. I have a german short haired pointer and her name is Esther. She is seriously my best friend! I love taking her to the dog park so she can meet new doggy friends and cuddling with her before bed. My dog always knows how to put a smile on my face. I know I will always have a love for dogs! I’m so excited to work at the Dog Nest and I can’t wait to spend time with doggies of all kinds.
Hello! My name is Gabby Baerbock and I am one of the dog handlers here at The Dog Nest! I am an animal behavior major at Carroll University and my job at The Dog Nest is helping me to start my career. This is the perfect environment for me to learn about different behaviors in dogs and I couldn’t be happier with my job. Animals have always been an important part of my life. I have multiple rescues of my own at home so dogs will always have a special place in my heart, especially the ones here!
